Twenty-seven candidates ran for five seats in the first council election, including winners Roland Bigonger, 1,049; David (Whit) Cromwell, 1,029; Bill Ross, 872; Burton Brooks, 838; and Herbert Warren, 811. Nine candidates ran for two seats in the fourth council election, including winners David (Whit) Cromwell, 1,549; and Henry (Hank) Wedaa, 1,511. Others were Jim Matych, 1,486; John Blancq, 534; Joseph De Stefano, 462; George Matthews, 338; June Matthews, 154; Irwin Fried, 116; and John Martin, 93.

Eleven candidates ran for three seats in the fifth council election, including winners Dale Chaput, 2,356; Irwin Fried, 1,902; and Anton (Doug) Groot, 1,872. Others were Herbert Warren, 1,694; J. Six candidates ran for three seats in the seventh council election, including winners Ron McRoberts, 1,348; Irwin Fried, 1,267; and Todd Murphy, 1,259. Others were Anton (Doug) Groot, 1,145; Gary Dolphin, 645; and George Cornwall, 506.

Eight candidates ran for two seats in the eighth council election, including winners Michael Beverage, 1,532; and Henry (Hank) Wedaa, 1,432. Others were William (Gene) Wisner, 1,364; Bob Campion, 1,046; Barbara Hammerman, 455; Gary Dolphin, 297; T. H. Weeda, 215; and Rolf Rolnicki, 75.

William (Gene) Wisner was appointed Jan. 3 to fill the unexpired term of Ron McRoberts, who resigned Jan. 1.

Nine candidates ran for nine seats in the ninth council election, including winners William (Gene) Wisner, 9,889; Todd Murphy, 9,476; and Irwin Fried, 9,378. Others were David Vaporean, 6,040; Barbara Gordon-Freeman, 3,795; Larry Beebe, 2,339; Donna Ward, 1,416; Linda Macias, 1,268; and Marion Hundley, 1,241.

Five candidates ran for two seats in the 10th council election, including winners Henry (Hank) Wedaa, 6,144; and Roland Bigonger, 5,740. Others were Gary Dolphin, 4,806; Mary Nolan, 4,257; and Michael Burns, 1,999.
November 8, 1988
Five candidates ran for three seats in the 11th council election, including winners William (Gene) Wisner, 12,380; Mark Schwing, 9,982; and Irwin Fried, 9,224. Others were Rick Violett, 8,860; and John Gullixson, 7,942.
November 6, 1990
Six candidates ran for two seats in the 12th council election, including winners John Gullixson, 9,231; and Henry (Hank) Wedaa, 5,468. Others were Roland Bigonger, 5,316; John Kirby, 4,540, Harry Elliott, 4,197; and Thomas Brown, 1,120.
November 3, 1992
Five candidates ran for three seats in the 13th council election, including winners Mark Schwing, 12,314; Daniel Welch, 9,977; and Barbara Kiley, 9,686. Others were Irwin Fried, 8,903; and Christine Norris, 7,435.

Four candidates ran for two seats in the 14th council election, including winners William (Gene) Wisner, 9,971; and John Gullixson, 9,103. Others were Christine Norris, 7,138; and Todd Tande, 6,364.

Eight candidates ran for three seats in the 15th council election, including winners Mark Schwing, 10,532; Henry (Hank) Wedaa, 9,120; and Barbara Kiley, 7,127. Others were Robert Meador, 7,111; Todd Tande, 6,960; Jack Parra, 6,642; Daniel Welch, 6,537; and M. Christopher Hall, 1,858.
November 3, 1998
Six candidates ran for two seats in the 16th council election, including winners William (Gene) Wisner, 8,843; and John Gullixson, 8,625. Others were Jack Parra, 7,714; Richard Freeman, 5,938; Allen Castellano, 3,706; and Thomas Foss, 1,489.
March 7, 2000
Seven candidates ran in the 17th council election to fill the unexpired term of William (Gene) Wisner, who resigned September 1999. Winner was Ken Ryan, 6,371. Others were David Christian, 5,202; Arthur Gerdes, 2,108; Ryan Clark, 1,623; Ken Stewart, 1,346; Keith Debrucky, 1,185; and Jim Kapko, 805.
November 7, 2000
Ten candidates ran for three seats in the 18th council election, including winners Jim Winder, 9,403; Michael Duvall, 8,614; and Allen Castellano, 7,993. Others were Mark Schwing, 7,893; Jack Parra, 7,582; Carl Boznanski, 7,551; John Taylor, 6,964; Thomas Lindsey, 6,575; Greg Schmidt, 3,921; and Jim Kapko, 2,477.
November 5, 2002
Eight candidates ran for two seats in the 19th council election, including winners Ken Ryan, 6,835; and Keri Wilson, 5,927. Others were Mark Schwing, 5,924; Lee Snyder, 4,357; Diana Hudson, 3,790; Walter Bruckner, 1,703; Robert Potter, 1,697; and Michael Burns, 1,468.
November 2, 2004
Five candidates ran for three seats in the 20th council election, including winners Allen Castellano, 16,879; Michael Duvall, 16,400; and Jim Winder, 14,358. Others were Ed Rakochy, 10,051 and Michael Burns, 7,788.

Ten candidates ran for two seats in the 21st council election, including winners Jan Horton, 8,293; and John Anderson, 6,684. Others were Doug Dickerson, 5,903; Keri Wilson, 5,228; Diana Hudson, 4,646; Alex Mikkelsen, 2,395; Michael Burns, 1,422; Mel Woodward, 1,083; Walter Bruckner, 1,069; and Steven Brunette, 1,060.
June 5, 2007
Three candidates ran in the 22nd council election to fill the unexpired term of Michael Duvall, who resigned December 2006. Winner was Henry (Hank) Wedaa, 3,749. Others were Keri Wilson, 2,944; and Victoria Gulickson, 1,616.
November 4, 2008
Nine candidates ran for three seats in the 23rd council election, including winners Mark Schwing, 13,328; Nancy Rikel, 12,922; and Jim Winder, 11,950. Others were Ed Rakochy, 11,949; Doug Dickerson, 8,558; Henry (Hank) Wedaa, 6,605; Mark Abramowitz, 5,302; Richard Wolfinger, 4,084; and Michael Marien, 2,704.
Measure BB, outlawing the use of eminent domain for economic development, won with 24,665 yes and 6,572 no.
November 2, 2010
Measure Y, an ethics ordinance, won with 22,415 yes and 3,937 no.
Measure Z, which would have allowed council to rezone a 3.2-acre Savi Ranch parcel for up to 30 units per acre and heights to 45 feet, lost with 13,334 no and 13,147 yes.

Seven candidates ran for three seats in the 25th council election, including winners Mark Schwing, 15,380; Craig Young, 14,790; and Eugene Hernandez, 13,845. Others were Nancy Rikel, 13,641; Ken Peterson, 9,753; Todd Cooper, 7,610; and Louis Knapperberger Jr., 6,756.
October 7, 2014
The 26th election involving council members was a special recall election in which voters declined to recall Tom Lindsey (yes: 5,216; no: 7,518) and Craig Young (yes: 5,234; no: 7,547), rendering moot the election for replacement candidates for Lindsey (Jeff Decker 5,101 and Matt Palmer 4,680) and Young (J. Minton Brown 4,987 and Nancy Rikel 4,890).
November 4, 2014
Six candidates ran for two seats in the 27th council election, including winners Peggy Huang, 8,253, and Tom Lindsey, 8,081. Others were Jeff Decker, 6,476; Judy Murray, 5,520; Matt Palmer, 3,087; and Paul Ambrus, 2,575.
Measure JJ, which eliminated pension and health care benefits for future council terms, won with 16,061 yes and 2,714 no.
November 8, 2016
Seven candidates ran for three seats in the 28th council election, including winners Tara Campbell, 15,253; Eugene Hernandez, 13,331; and Beth Haney, 11,981. Others were Craig Young, 11,662; Cristy Parker, 9,913; Ryan Smith, 8,782; and Paul Dissolito, 6,472.
November 6, 2018
Three candidates ran for two seats in the 29th council election, including winners Peggy Huang, 18,764; and Carlos Rodriguez, 16,120. Other was Lourdes Cruz, 10,917.
November 3, 2020
No election was held because only the three incumbents filed tp run: Tara Campbell, Eugene Hernandez and Beth Haney.
November 8, 2022
Three candidates ran for two seats in the 30th council election, including winners Carlos Rodriguez, 16,392; Janice Lim, 13,266; other was Ryan Bent, 12,334.

Five candidates ran for three seats in the 31st council election, including winners Tara Campbell, 27,244; Peggy Huang, 17,956; and Shivinder Singh, 12,764. Others were Jess Battaglia, 12,699 and Anthony Johnson, 10,356. Beth Haney did not seek a third term.
